Block Out Sunday – In The key Of She Takeover

by | 3rd Dec 2020 | Show Update

On this weeks show we have the pleasure of Dovetail aka Sam Warren taking over with her In The Key of She Show with Guest Charmain Love.

She loves to combine quirky melodic beats with fat funky basslines that reflect her passionate sense of fun, wonder and beauty in life.

She is also an advocate of ‘artisan techno’ from DIY producers –  especially women and those from gender minorities –

behind the decks she’s known for her infectious energy and has recently started releasing her own productions.

She is also a core DJ for Sisu, a DJ collective for women based in London and Berlin!

Off the decks she’s a Professor in Organization Studies at the University of Portsmouth and the driving force behind the research project and platform “In the Key of She”.

95-98% of the electronic music in charts, mixes, and to buy on platforms is made by men and Sam’s on a mission to find out how we can even things out.

Formerly a resident DJ with the legendary Pussycat Club and Playroom at Brighton’s Zap Club, Charmain Love has had a distinguished DJ career on the south coast club scene having played at virtually all of the Brighton club venues, supported Ministry of Sound Sessions on tour, several London clubs and internationally. After a career break for family she started hosting a weekly Friday night radio show at Trickstar Radio, which available as a podcast, sat regularly at no7 in the tech house charts on one of the largest iTunes Podcast web hosting sites Podomatic.

Excited now to be joining Decadance Radio where she showcases the best new house, tech house and techno every Friday night 8-10pm with an uplifting driving energy and a bouncy party vibe.

More recently back again in the clubs, including playing for the Bubba Brothers in Portugal, AFEM at Brighton Music Conference and warming up for Juliet Sikora for ‘Berlin’ at the Green Door Store in Brighton.

Her own tech house track productions have received support from a host of top DJs and there are plenty more productions in the works including upcoming remix for Sunscreem so watch this space.
